Great Plains Autism Spectrum Disorders Treatment Program
Overview
The Great Plains Autism Spectrum Disorder Treatment Program provides training, research, diagnostic and treatment services to North Dakota children and youth suspected or diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD).
Community-based training and services allow the delivery of needed resources to people throughout North Dakota.

Scott Bellini - Building Social Relationships
On April 28th and 29th, the GPAST team, other area professionals, and parents, enjoyed the two day conference “Building Social Relationships” led by Indiana University’s Dr. Scott Bellini. Bellini stressed the importance of social skills training for youth with ASD and broke the concept up in order to examine the important aspects of a social skills training program. After creating this foundation, key aspects were then applied to real and practical social skills interventions. The GPAST team was especially interested in the presentation of video self-modeling and the use of technology in this social skills intervention. Video self-modeling along with many of the ideas presented will be incorporated into the GPAST team’s review of social skills training programs and procedures.
