The mission of the NDCPD Cultural Diversity Advisory Committee (CDAC) is to build diverse relationships, strengthen community connections, and inform professionals in order to improve service delivery to citizens with disabilities and their families.
ACTIVITIES THAT ACHIEVE MISSION, VISION, AND VALUE STATEMENTS
Sylvia is an enrolled member of the Turtle Mountain Band of
Chippewa. Sylvia has a certification in Community and Social
Services from the College of the Redwoods located in Eureka, CA
and is in the process of obtaining a college degree in psychology
and art. Amongst her many interests is art and helping others
become more confident in letting their own creativity out. One of
her talents is drawing portraits using soft pastels. As a GenerationArt/Red Wind Wellness team member, Sylvia handles various administrative tasks while maintaining relationships with our ever expanding community.

Book #6: Wednesday, May 1st, 2019 at 12:00pm in the Nelson Room - the book will be The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down: A Hmong Child, Her American Doctors, and the Collision of Two Cultures, by Anne Fadman.
Book #7: Wednesday, June 12th, 2019 at 12:00pm in the Nelson Room - the book will be Falling Leaves: A Memoir of an Unwanted Chinese Daughter, by Adeline Yen Mah.
Remember, you will have 6 weeks in which to read your book. If you start the book and don’t finish it, still try to make the meeting!
