My name is Jada McDonald I am originally from Detroit Michigan. I moved with the military and have seen some gorgeous places. I moved to Minot ND from Key West this past winter. Burr! I studied psychology at Old Dominion University. I am continuing my education at Minot State University for Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities. Before starting my career at NDCPD I worked at a resident treatment facility, where I supported children cope with mental illnesses.
Because of my passionate stand on advocacy for persons with disabilities, NDCPD was a natural fit. My greatest passion is bringing independence as well as individuality to persons with disabilities. I am a strong believer that there are no "one size fits all" approach to surface many capabilities people with disabilities may have. This is achieved by encouraging them to know their strengths, interests, who they are by way of self-determination.
One of my favorite quotes is “If you never venture beyond what you know... You've spawned your own limitations.”
