The ND Navigator project is funded by the Department of Human Services, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid and has been serving the people of ND since 2013. The ND Center for Persons with Disabilities a center of excellence at Minot State University provides one part time certified Navigator serving consumers across the state. Our mission is to provide you with guidance and assistance in accessing and understanding health insurance.
The North Dakota legislature voted to use the federal health insurance exchange also called the Marketplace instead of setting up their own exchange as required by the ACA. ND citizens now have the ability to use www.healthcare.gov to shop for health insurance options. Navigators are trained to guide you through this process and answer the sometimes complicated questions that you face.
We are not insurance agents, our job is to show you the many options you have and make sense of the process.
You may think because of our affiliations that we deal with only persons with disabilities, that is not the case, we are here to help all ND residents.
