The Self-Advocacy through Technology (SATT) project recognizes the need to increase access to and use of mainstream technology by individuals with intellectual disabilities (ID). To fulfill this need, the SATT project addresses three main goals:
1) Increase access to community, resources, social interactions, and employment of individuals with ID.
2) Increase the abilities of persons who provide support to individuals with ID to reinforce and encourage appropriate use of technology in natural settings.
3) Create and disseminate tools to assist individuals with ID and their support network in continuing the effective use of mainstream technologies to foster greater independence within the community.
