Outdoors

ND State Parks  - This web site provides a wealth of information about North Dakota State Parks and Recreation. For specific information about park accessibility, contact the North Dakota Parks and Recreation Department at (701) 328-5357; or Relay North Dakota at 1-800-366-6888 (TYY).

ND Game and Fish Department  - This site provides information about hunting, fishing, and outdoor educational programs. In the spring, the North Dakota Game and Fish Department has offered a special “Learning to Fish Experience” for families and persons with disabilities. Although geared especially towards people with disabilities,  the presence of family, friends, and volunteers makes this a fun and integrated experience.

City Parks & Recreation  - In your search for activities, do not overlook the city parks and recreation programs offered in a city near you. In some cities, these programs are separate, and in some cities they are combined. Often cities offer specific recreation programs that promote fitness.

Camps for Children with Disabilities or Chronic Health Conditions - Sometimes families want a unique camping experience, one that will address a child's needs related to their disability. Click on this web site to identify a few of the camps available to ND youth with disabilities and chronic health conditions.
