Training
Common Ground Training - A special program that brings general and special educators to the table with families and teaches them to focus on common ground. This programs goal would be to address the needs of the child in a way that builds a positive relationship. This training was developed by the ND Protection and Advocacy Project and has been provided to individual communities across North Dakota. To learn more about it, contact Jim Jacobson through the P&A web site or call 1-800-472-2670.
Partners in Policymaking - This
training uses a national model for personal advocacy to teach persons
with
disabilities and their families how to use best practice techniques in
securing appropriate services. The training is provided through the
Dakota
Center for Independent Living. Although they do not yet have a web
site, they can be reached toll free at 1-800-489-5013.
