Starting a Daycare

Would you like to start your own daycare? As a child care provider, it is a good 
idea to be licensed.  The process of becoming licensed can help to assure that 
children are safe and receive optimal care.  To become familiar with the licensing

You will want to become familiar with what a daycare can and cannot do under the
Americans with Disability Act.  The Single Parent Daycare site is an excellent 
reference for this kind of information.

If you want to know about building an after school program that can serve students
or children with disabilities you may want to go to After School Day Care site. 
Click on special needs.

Register with CARECHECK at 1-800-245-3736. This registry, maintain by the 
Children and Family Services Division of the ND Department of Human Services 
will reassure families that you have no history of child abuse or criminal background.

If you are operating in Northwest North Dakota, find out about the Health Child Care 
Project. This project will provide you with information about health and developmental i
nformation about young children. It includes access to health professionals for
