Mr. Neil Scharpe serves as the Principal Investigator for the HRSA funded grant that coordinates the North Dakota Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (NDEHDI) Program under the authority of the North Dakota Department of Health. Mr. Scharpe has also directed a project that established a Technical and Management Protocol and tool kit to diagnose hearing loss in infants 0-6 months of age using the internet and tele-health network.
Mr. Scharpe also is the Director of the Great Plains Center for Community Research and Service at MSU. The Center has a mission to engage faculty and student of MSU in assisting communities in northwest ND in identifying and soling community issues. The Center was instrumental in flood related recovery projects as a result of the 2011 Mouse River Flood.
