Training

ND SMP’s training component is to assist volunteers to expand their knowledge on Medicare and Healthcare Fraud.

As a ND SMP volunteer we encourage you to complete the training component at your own pace.

How to get started?

Before you start the training, you will need to take a short, one time Pre-Test. This pre-test only needs to completed once.  When you are finished with the pre test you will find the mailing instructions at the end of the test or you can give it to your local Regional Volunteer Coordinator. Once we have received the completed pre test you will be sent a Username and Password to access the training component.

The ND SMP Training Component consists of 9 Training Choice boxes.

  •         The first box is an overview of “What is SMP?”
  •         The next 5 boxes are different chapters (1-5) to complete the training.
  •         The last 3 boxes give you important ideas, strategies and resources that will help         you on the job.

Chapters 1-5 you will find a post- test after reading the content. Your answers should be mailed with the instructions provided at the end of each chapter.  Please note that your answers will help determine if you might need more information on the chapter and it will help us decide if the training is working for you.

One of the resouces is the SMP Handbook for more in-depth reading. We suggest you view the online chapters first. Good Luck!  And thanks for being a North Dakota SMP volunteer.
